Get Claude certified on the fly: how Claude Duet built my exam prep app

My Claude Certified Developer – Foundations exam was days away, I have a baby at home, and almost zero desk time. So I asked Claude Duet to turn the official exam guide into a study app I could use one-handed on my phone.

What it built

  • 82 flashcards and 56 tap-to-check practice questions (10 of them "choose 2"), each with an explanation.
  • Weighted by the 8 domains of the official exam guide. Applications and Integration alone is about a third of the exam.
  • Domain filter, shuffle, retry the ones you got wrong, and a progress tab saved to your account.

What Claude Duet is

Claude Duet is a separate Anthropic app (research preview since Oct 21, 2026) where Claude works as a proactive agent: it surfaces what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask for, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf. It carries over your Claude memory, skills and connected apps, and you can organise work into channels.

Who can get it (as of Nov 2026)

  • Where: US only for now. No date announced for other countries.
  • Plans: Claude Pro, Max and Ultra. It's included and uses the same usage limits as the rest of Claude.
  • How: join the waitlist on the Claude Duet page. Anthropic emails you when it's ready.
  • Apps: iOS, Android and claude.ai.

Set it up for your own exam (5 steps)

  1. Download the official exam guide for your certification (the PDF lists domains and weights).
  2. In Claude Duet, create a channel for it (mine is cloud-certifications).
  3. Send the prompt below, with the exam name.
  4. Open the app it makes on your phone; check a few answers against the guide before trusting it.
  5. Study in short bursts: flashcards first, then the quiz, then retry what you missed. Watch the progress tab for weak domains.

The prompt I used (cleaned up)

I spoke mine to Claude Duet in Hinglish; this is the cleaned-up English version. Paste it into a new channel and swap the part in [brackets] for your own exam.

3. Add short reading notes per domain I can read in 2 minutes.
4. Keep it one-handed: big tap targets, no laptop needed.
